My Story

Leadership begins with one question: Why?

Leadership begins with one question: Why?

Curiosity has always been at the center of how I think. My father used to joke that after learning the word “no,” my second word was “why.” Looking back, he wasn’t wrong.

That curiosity became the foundation of my leadership style. Whether improving customer experiences, building marketing campaigns, mentoring students, or leading teams, I naturally begin by understanding how everything connects.

I believe leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about asking thoughtful questions, developing people, building better systems, and creating opportunities for others to succeed.

I Ask Before I Solve

My natural instinct is to ask questions before offering answers. What problem are we actually trying to solve? Who is affected? What has already been tried? I have found that slowing down at the start — even briefly — leads to clearer thinking, better decisions, and solutions that actually stick. I would rather spend time understanding a challenge than rush into a response that misses the mark.

I Enjoy Understanding How Organizations Work

I am genuinely interested in how organizations function — where they move smoothly, where they get stuck, and how small changes in structure or process can create better outcomes for everyone. Whether I am looking at a student success program, a marketing workflow, or a customer experience, I pay attention to the systems behind the work. When those systems are strong, people can do their best work.

My Greatest Satisfaction Comes from Helping People Grow

The most rewarding part of my career has been watching people gain confidence, skills, and opportunity. I have mentored students, developed employees, and built learning experiences that helped people see what they were capable of. Their growth is the accomplishment I am most proud of — more than any title, campaign, or initiative.

I Believe in Systems That Serve People

I have seen what happens when systems are designed well: employees feel supported, students get what they need, customers have better experiences, and organizations become more effective. I care about building systems that are not just efficient, but human. Because when the structure is right, the people inside it thrive.

The Thread That Holds It Together

My career has moved across higher education, retail, marketing, communications, business development, and customer experience. Those industries look different on the surface, but the underlying purpose has remained the same — to help people and organizations become better. That consistency is what keeps me grounded and what continues to guide the work I take on.

“Great leadership isn’t measured by the title you hold. It’s measured by the people you develop, the organizations you strengthen, and the opportunities you create.”
